The most technical section of this page. Each certified standard is stated with a plain-language explanation of what it covers; additional standards are applied per project scope.
Part 2 (Comprehensive) covers the full set of welding quality requirements for welded fabrication, including welding procedure qualification, welder competency, welding consumable management, joint preparation, pre- and post-weld heat treatment, inspection and testing, and non-conformance control. It is the most rigorous of the three ISO 3834 quality levels.

Work is executed in compliance with applicable Australian and international welding standards, including:
ISO 9001 certification states the system exists. This is what it means in practice — the framework every fabrication and construction scope is delivered under.
Project-specific ITPs developed to client or standard requirements, with hold and witness points defined and managed throughout fabrication and installation.
Full material traceability from mill certificates through to finished component. Material Data Records (MDR) compiled and delivered at project completion.
Non-destructive testing coordination and management for weld inspection — including UT, MPI, PT, RT and PAUT where specified. Third-party NDT services coordinated under HWM’s QMS.
Documented non-conformance process with corrective-action tracking and close-out. An NCR register is maintained throughout the project.
WPS and PQR qualification, welder competency records, welding consumable control, weld mapping and post-weld heat treatment records maintained under AS/NZS ISO 3834 Part 2.
Full QA documentation package compiled and delivered at completion, including ITPs, weld maps, NDT reports, NCR register, hydrostatic test records and MDR.
HWM Engineering holds ISO 45001:2018 (occupational health & safety) and ISO 14001:2015 (environmental) certification across all operations, including workshop fabrication and site-based work.
Under the leadership of Ali Samimi — Quality Manager / Principal Welding Engineer and Weld Australia Welding Engineer of the Year — HWM provides the following welding engineering, inspection and calibration services.
